Berlin Dramatic Academy (Staatliche Schauspielschule Berlin), followed by 25 years working as an actor at the Theater Parchim, Karl-Marx-Stadt & Dresden. Since about 1970 numerous TV roles (including, "Polizeiruf ", Der Schnapper", "Der Laden"); also film roles such as "Nachtgestalten" & "Die Polizistin" by Andreas Dresen, in particular the main role in "Wir können auch anders" by Detlef Buck for which he won the German Federal Film Prize
